Gloria J. Lester

January 4, 1945 - December 19, 2011

GLORIA JEAN LESTER, 66, of South Point, OH went to be with the Lord Monday, December 19, 2011. With her husband and youngest daughter by her side, Gloria smiled sweetly and left this earth behind.

Gloria was born January 4, 1945 in Huntington, WV. All who knew her were charmed by her engaging laughter and loving heart. She spent her life devoted to her husband, her parents, and her children, instilling in her daughters her sense of humor and leaving them with many treasured memories.

Gloria was a member of Lockdale Church of God, and enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, and crocheting. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Bobby Lee Lester of South Point, OH; her parents, Joseph L. and Margaret Louise Conner McKee, also of South Point; three daughters, Jill Lester Adams of Ashland, KY, Melissa Lester (Steven) McCloud of Chesapeake, OH, and Jennifer Lester Stapleton of South Point; one sister, Vicki Gail (David) Crook of South Point; six grandchildren, Anna, Abigail, and Adam VanDyke, Logan and Darby McCloud, and Trey Stapleton; and numerous friends and extended family. Gloria’s husband and children thank Dr. Gerald Oakley, the staff of Cabell Huntington Hospital, and the members of Emogene Doline Jones Hospice House of Huntington for the outstanding care they provided.

Family and friends will be celebrating her life from 6 PM to 8 PM Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 22, also at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, with Pastor Cecil Lester, Steven McCloud, and Dave Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home is honored to have been chosen to serve the family of Gloria.
