JEANETTE MAE VANCE, 82, of South Point, Ohio died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Ashland, KY. Graveside services will be 11 AM Tuesday, March 26, 2012 at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, OH with Pastor Chuck Lawrence officiating. Jeanette was born August 2, 1929 in Ashland, KY, a daughter of the late Harold and Verna Belle Fraley Schritter. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, South Point, OH, a member of the South Point Homemaker’s Club, a member of the Lions Club, South Point, and a member of the T.O.P.S. club, South Point, conducted numerous fundraisers for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and a long time 4H advisor for numerous 4H clubs in South Point. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers and birds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Vance. Jeanette is survived by four children, Debra (John) Roach of South Point, OH, Sandra (William) Daniel of South Point, OH, David (Meshelle) Vance of South Point, OH and Greg (Rebecca) Vance of Catlettsburg, KY; two brothers, Donald (Judy) Schritter of South Point, OH and Ronald Schritter of South Point, OH; one sister, Theresa Schritter; one aunt, Leva Smith of South Point, OH; 9 grandchildren, Christina (Mike) Mahan of Lake Orion, MI, Rebecca Banks (Chris Daniel) of Ashland, KY, Emily (Bart) Kirk of Lavalette, WV, Evan Daniel (Ginny Lucas) of South Point, OH, Heather Vance of Florida, Amber (Ted) Willhelm of South Point, OH, Samuel Duvall, Lillian Vance and Anna Vance all of Catlettsburg, KY; 11 great grandchildren, Brandi Banks, Shannon Fransted, Robert Moss, Casey Mahan, Garrett Daniel, Abegale Daniel, Shelby Willis, Sydney Kirk, Aiden Daniel, Cody Willhelm and Emma Willhelm; and one great-great grandchild, Kaden Runyon. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH is in charge of arrangements and is honored to have been chosen to serve the Vance family.
