Alfred Jackson, 89, of South Point, OH died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, OH. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH with Rev. Melvin Freeman officiating. Alfred was born June 2, 1923 in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Neil and Ollie Cosby Jackson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellis Jean Jackson; a brother, Cornelius Jackson; a son Terry Jackson; and daughter, Alfreda Foster. He was a retired employee of Huntington Trust and Savings Bank, a veteran of the US Army and enjoyed collecting stamps and watching sports. Alfred is survived by two sons, Steven and Aaron (Crystal) Jackson of South Point, OH; four daughters, Alma Kidd of Lawrenceville, GA, Dorthea Jackson and Linda Johnson both of Fayetteville, NC and Victoria Jackson of Columbus, OH; two sisters-in-law, Mae Dell Williams of South Point, OH and Jewel Webster of Columbus, OH; a brother-in-law, Sonny (Blandennah) Black of Gary, IN; 12 grandchildren, Tyrone, Delanyul, April, Julia, Terry II, Stacey II, Summer, Tristain, Brieanna, Adam, Angelica and Brittany; and a host of great grandchildren.
