    On September 8th, 2012, John F. Sherman, 65 years old from South Point, Ohio departed this life and went home to heaven to meet his Lord & Savior. He was born June 6th, 1947 in Ironton, Ohio. He was the son of the late Don Sherman and Alma Jude Sherman who resides in South Point. He was the beloved husband for 44 years of his wonderful wife, Sue (Kouns) Sherman. He was the proud father of 3 children, Teresa (Curtis) Reichert, John Bruce (Lana) Sherman and Laura (George) Heins. He had 3 grandchildren Mikayla Shae Reichert, Jack Ryan Sherman and Emma Grace Heins who adored him and was a devoted Christian and supporting grandfather. He was loved by all in the community for his beliefs and principles. He retired from the South Point school district after 30 years. He served 3 terms on the South Point Village Council and 2 terms on the South Point Board of Education. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon Saturday, September 15th at the old South Point High School. Services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Paul R. Farley officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. The family would like to give special thanks to St. Mary’s Medical Center and the staff which provided care.
