Earl Michael (Mike) Perry, 59, of South Point, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 07, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, Ohio with Pastor Charles Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Mike was born June 29, 1953 in Inez, KY, a son of Aline Preston Cline and the late Earl Perry. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one brother, David Perry and his step-father, Morgan Cline. Mike worked as a coal miner for 27 years retiring in 1995. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and attended the South Point First Church of the Nazarene. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Whitt Perry; one son, Chris (Lora) Whitt of South Point, OH; one daughter, Janet Whitt of South Point, OH; two sisters Cathy (Glen) Wilkinson of Winchester, KY and Janet Sanders of Texas; one brother Elbert Perry of Inez, KY; four grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Jared and Emilee Whitt; and a host of nieces and nephews.
