    Peter J. Chupela ,76, South Point, died in his home on November 10, 2012, surrounded by his devoted family.
    Born in Hazelton, PA, he was the youngest son of the late Joseph and Anna (Lukatch) Chupela. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Emil Albert and Joseph Chupela and his sister Helen Nevedal.
    Peter served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1962, where he devotedly cared for his first love, the F86 Sabre aircraft. He retired from AK Steel in 1998, having worked there for 33 years. He was a lifetime member of The American Legion Post 93 Kenova, DAV Chapter 21 Huntington, VFW Post 1064 Ironton and Amvets Kenova.
    Surviving Peter are his wife of 36 years Joyce (Potterton) Chupela, daughters Jane York and her husband Larry, Kathryn Addison and her husband Marc, Teresa Keefe and her husband Terry, sons James and John Cassity, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, brother William (Bill) and his wife Bernadine, Sisters Leona Pisak, Mary and Anna Chupela and many nieces and nephews.
    Special thank you to the staff of Quality Care Nursing and Hospice.
    Visitation is planned at the Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, 802 Solida Rd., South Point, OH on Friday, November 16th from 6 pm to 8 pm. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 17th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church in Chesapeake OH where he was a faithful member. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Condolences may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
