Hettie A. Canterbury Toney

Hettie Allene Canterbury Toney, 89, of South Point, Ohio, was called home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, Ohio. Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, Ohio, with Wayne McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington, WV. Hettie was born July 31, 1923 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Alka and Mildred Louise Niday Keefer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Canterbury and her second husband Paul Toney. She retired as an aide from 5th Avenue Baptist Daycare and attended Chesapeake Christian Church. Hettie is survived by her children, Sharon (David) Price of Huntington, WV, Sue Owen of West Palm Beach, FL, Ronnie (Mary Ann) Canterbury of South Point, OH, Debbie Canterbury of South Point, OH and Penny (Terry) Ticknor of Franklin Furnace, OH; two brothers Bill Keefer of South Point, OH and Carroll “Pete” Keefer of Chesapeake, OH; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
