Leland Everette Keeney, 72, of Scottown, Ohio went to be with the Lord June 6, 2013 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH by Pastor Don Irby. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH. Leland was born October 18, 1940 in Getaway, OH, son of the late Everette and Marie Keeney. Leland was a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church, Proctorville, OH. He was retired from Gallagher Ford Parts Department. Leland was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Melvena Keeney and one brother, Bernard Keeney. He is survived by his wife, Judy Mannon Keeney; two daughters, Sheila (Phillip) Bowman and Sherri (Larry) Collins; stepsons, Steven Rowe and Brent Cardwell; stepdaughter, Marianne Cardwell; a granddaughter, Shadara Robinson; two great grandchildren, Braylon and Kiley Bird; and five step great grandchildren, Allison, Kristin, Katelyn, Elizabeth and Emma Grace. He is also survived by four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and Allen Collins of Houston, TX, Noami and David Johnson of VA, Loretta and Tom Claytor of Chesapeake, OH, Brenda and Charles Maxey of Chesapeake, OH; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Homer and Helen Keeney, Larry and Peggy Keeney, Ron and Janie Keeney and Virginia Keeney, all of Chesapeake, OH. Leland was a quiet man who showed his love by seeing that the needs of his family were met. He loved to joke with people and discuss the affairs of the world with a special brother–in-law out by the barn. He saves the best for those who leave the choice to him. Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM Monday, June 10, 2013 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, 802 Solida Road, South Point, OH.
