Clarice E. Barnhart Newman

Clarice Eileen Barnhart Newman, 69, of Coal Grove, OH went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 16, 2013 at the Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY. Clarice was born April 16, 1944 in Pedro, OH, the daughter of the late Stanley and Lennie Stapleton Barnhart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “J D” Newman on January 14, 2011 (whom she married July 10, 2008). She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joanne Summers and Barbara Carmon; and an infant brother, Stanley Barnhart, Jr. Clarice is survived by two sisters, Helen (Kenneth) Morrison of Coal Grove, OH and Mary Donley of Waterloo, OH; a special nephew, Kenny Morrison of Coal Grove; a niece, Mary Wetzel of Ironton who helped care for Clarice; and a host of special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH with Rev. Dale Knipp officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery.
