    Mr. Johnie M. Walls, age 75, of South Point, OH died Friday, July 26, 2013 at Kings Daughter’s Medical Center. Mr. Walls is survived by a wife Della; three children, Lisa Cremeans and husband Paul, Monty Walls and wife Melinda, Jonathan Walls and wife Krista. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren that he was very proud of and spoke of daily, a brother J.C. Walls and wife Sharon, a brother Randall Walls and wife Sandy and a sister Judy Harmon. He was preceded in death by a sister Harriet Scott, a sister Charlene Lusk, a brother Larry Walls and a grandson Michael Paul Cremeans. The son of a coal miner, he grew up in Logan County, West Virginia. Johnie was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War, retired as a Master Sargent and received numerous awards including the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service. All who knew him would agree that discipline and patriotism he learned in the Air Force stuck with him throughout his entire life. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for 18 years at Armco/AK Steel in Ashland, KY. He was an honorable Kentucky Colonel and a member of The Sybene Independent Missionary Baptist Church. In his later years he enjoyed golfing, traveling to Tennessee, spending time with his friends at both the Vietnam Support Group 16th Street Vets Center and the VFW Post 9796, Milton WV as well as volunteering his time at the Ashland City Mission. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Sybene Independent Missionary Baptist Church from 5pm to 9pm. Funeral will also be at the church Thursday at 1pm with burial at Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, WV. Pastor D.L. Webb will be officiating.
