    Nancy S. Bruce, 71, of South Point, OH, widow of Donald E. Bruce died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born March 25, 1942 in Ironton, OH, a daughter of the late Henry P. Davis and Gertrude Scherer Davis. She was a retired employee of Ashland, Inc. where she worked as a clerk. Nancy was a member of the First Baptist Church of South Point where she was active in the Backpack Ministry and a member of the JOY Club. She was a 1960 graduate of South Point High School. She is survived by three children, Donna (Mark) Hopper of Ironton, OH, Scott (Crystal) Bruce of South Point and Kevin Bruce of Ironton; two brothers, Henry M. (Kimberly) Davis of South Point and Ben (Cheryl) Davis of South Point; two sisters, Deborah (Rodney) Sparks of South Point and Linda (Donald) Main of South Point; and seven grandchildren, Kayla (Nick) Walker of Worthington, KY, Amber McClure of Ironton, Jacob McClure of Ironton, Joshua Hopper of Russell, KY, Katelynn Hopper of Huron, OH, Deanna Jo Bruce of South Point and Alexandria Mounts of South Point. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, August 12, 2013 at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Friends may call from Noon to 1:00 PM Monday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of South Point Backpack Ministry. Condolences may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
