Marlin Ray McClure, 90, of South Point, OH died Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Lantern at Morning Pointe, Russell, KY. He was born April 30, 1928 in South Point, a son of the late Carl McClure and Shirley Moore McClure. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Marie McClure, Edith Mae Freeman and Mary Ruth McClure; and three brothers, Lee McClure, Julian McClure and Floyd McClure. He was a retired school teacher from Rock Hill Schools and a graduate of Rio Grande College. He also attended First Southern Baptist Church, South Point. Marlin is survived by three nieces, JoAnn Sinclair of Columbus, OH and Karen McClure and Sandy Clark, both of Charlotte, NC; and a sister-in-law, Jean McClure of Charlotte. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, June 1, 2018 at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, OH with Pastor Paul Michael Booth officiating. For anyone wishing to attend, the procession to the cemetery will leave Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point one half hour preceding the graveside service.
