Donald Lee Saunders, 86, of Burlington, OH passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born October 4, 1931 in Huntington, WV, son of the late Ceburn Cecil and Gladys Irene Adkins Saunders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Blevins. Don was a member of Grace Gospel Church, Huntington, WV for 43 years. He retired from the US Air Force with 22 years of service and continued working for the Veteran’s Administration Office and retired after 20 years. He also worked part –time at Sam’s Club and the Marshall University Ticket Office. Additionally, he was a graduate of Tri-State Bible College. Don is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce Saunders whom he married on May 24, 1954. He is also survived by his sons, Dannie (Carla) Saunders of Powell, OH, Terri (Lisa) Saunders of Lexington, KY, and Chris Saunders of Burlington, OH; grandchildren, Nolan (Katiy) Saunders, Nathaniel (Chelsea) Saunders, Noa and Noelle Saunders, Marian Turner and Rachel Saunders, and Brookelyn and Sarah Saunders; and great grandchildren, Braedyn, Carrick and Molly Saunders and Amelia Saunders. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home with Don’s nephew, Pastor Michael Blevins of Atlanta, GA officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Burlington, OH. Friends may visit from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
