After being at my great friend Derek Clark​ 's showing last night, I must say this. As a young man, Derek an I spent a lot of time together as classmates. He was a great friend to me and all that knew him. I haven't had the chance to see him in a long time and I am not too happy that I let thit happen. He was a strong person and it has shown through all that he has been through. Although he is gone now I can say that he was a good man. A husband, a father and good soul. His contribution of being my friend will never be forgotten and I am glad that he turned out to be such a great man and had such a great family. Great friends, Dustin Swank

We were heartbroken to hear of Derek's passing. Cancer takes the will and lives of many of our youth of our country. This man was strong willed for himself, his family and his God. We knew him mostly as a child but followed him throughout his life with the stories and discussions of him through his Mother and Grandmother. I only met Derek a couple of times in his short life but I love his family so how could I not love him. He seemed like a great guy and that was enough for me. I am praying you, his family, can find ways to celebrate his life and learn to live here without him. Ultimately, we Christians, know we will see him again and that can be comforting. Love each other well; especially now that you know life here can be very short!
