    Capt. Joseph L. McKee, 95, of South Point, OH went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 6, 2016 at his residence.  He was born May 30, 1921 at North Kenova, OH, a son of the late Bryan McKee and Pauline Stephenson McKee.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Margaret Louise Conner McKee and a daughter, Gloria Jean Lester.  Joe was a Chief Warrant Officer with the U.S. Coast Guard in WW II and a 42-year employee of Midland Enterprises where he was a Riverboat Captain.  He was a member of South Point Christian Church and a graduate of Chesapeake High School.  Survivors include a daughter, Vickie (David) McKee Crook; son-in-law, Bobby Lester; 5 granddaughters, Jill Lester Adams of, Melissa (Steven) Lester McCloud, Jennifer Lester Stapleton, Carrie (Joe) Crook Ditta of Houston, TX and Jennifer (Zachary) Crook Reeder of Ft. Worth, TX; 10 great grandchildren, Anna, Abby and Adam and VanDyke, Logan and Darby McCloud, Trey Stapleton, Chase and Blake Boren, and Emma and Abigail Reeder; niece, Judy (Dave) Goodall Lester; great nephew, David (Janet) Lester; and 2 great-great nieces, Tracy and Christy Mae Lester.  He also leaves behind many friends, including John and Donna Onesta. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home with Jerry Greenslait officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
