Michael Ray "Buckshot" Wilks

November 14, 1956 - June 20, 2016

Michael Ray “Buckshot” Wilks, 59 of Chesapeake, OH passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV.  He was born November 14, 1956 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Harry Clayton Wilks and Kathlene Geneva (Singer) Wilks.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet M. Hicks; two brothers, Harry Lee Wilks Sr. and Paul Leslie Wilks.  He attended Symmes Valley  School and Chesapeake High School.  He was a Coal Truck Driver for 40 years and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 2320 and Moose Lodge 2586 Chapter 2223.  He is survived by two sons, Joseph David (Danyelle) Wilks and Michael Aaron (Angela) Wilks; two sisters, Sharon G. Adkins and Marcia Wilks Smoot; one brother, Roger C. (Debbie) Wilks; four grandchildren, Blayze Fallon Campbell, Harley Rayne Wilks, Piper Oaklyn Wilks and Holden Michael Wilks; was loved by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews; friends who stuck by his side through it all, Bonnie Francis Mills, Rupert Ray Wilkes and Glenda Karen Wilks; and so many friends.  He will truly be missed by ALL who knew him.  A celebration of life will be held at 4 PM July 3, 2016 at Moose Lodge 2586 Rt. 60 Huntington, WV.   Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
