    Earl Franklin Alltop, Jr., 89 of South Point, OH, formerly of Chesapeake, OH went to be with the Lord, at his residence Sunday, July 3, 2016 surrounded by his loving family while they were reciting his favorite bible verse, Psalm 23.  Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with his grandson, Pastor Jay Love officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.  Earl was born August 25, 1926 in Chesapeake, a son of the late Earl Franklin Alltop, Sr. and Irene Ferris Alltop Watts.  He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jimmy Alltop, William Franklin Alltop and Gary Alltop; and his grandparents who raised him, William “Bill” Prince and Elizabeth Prince.   He was a World War II veteran, having been drafted into the U. S. Army, where he served for 3 years before enlisting in the U. S. Navy for 4 years.  He was also retired as an Inspector for the former Houdaille Industries in Huntington and had a love for fishing with his sons and friends.   Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ward Alltop; 5 children, Julie Love, Patty Mannon, Larry Franklin Alltop, and Jimmy Alltop, all of South Point and Bobbie Lockhart of Houston, TX; 1 sister, Peggy Spence of Huntington; 4 brothers, Pete Alltop of Denton, TX and Keith Alltop, Pat Alltop and Mike Alltop, all of Columbus, OH; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.  Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.   John 3:16 (KJV) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
