Ruth Ann Mays

Ruth Ann Mays, 80, of South Point, OH passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, July 8, 2016 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Bishop E. S. Harper officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.  She was born February 14, 1936 in South Point, OH, a daughter of the late L. M. Butcher and Gladys Toney Butcher.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy R. Butcher and sister-in-law, Julia Butcher.  Ruth served as Treasurer for the Lawrence County School System.  Survivors include her children, Marc K. Mays and Marti J. McClure; a sister, Linda D. Lester; 2 grandchildren, Molly Myers and Max Mays; and 2 great grandchildren, Jackson Mays and Jensen Myers.  Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
