William Stapleton

October 17, 1949 - July 13, 2016

William “Bill” Franklin Stapleton, 66, of Ironton, OH died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at his residence.  Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, July 18, 2016 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Randy Tute officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, OH.  He was born October 17, 1949 in Huntington, West Virginia, a son of the late Charles E. and Mary Ann Ashworth Stapleton.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Robert Stapleton and Charles Stapleton; and a niece, Mary Margret Stapleton.  Bill is survived by his children, Samantha (Robert Russell) Wood, Leeann (Hank Williams, Jr.) Williams, Becky (Jerry) Taylor, Mike Sharp and James Sharp; his ex-wife and caretaker, Ruth Sharp; four nieces, Megan Levi, Heather Christian, Anna Sharp and Maddy Sharp; two nephews, Travis (Audriauna) Taylor and Coty Runyon; and a granddaughter, Kirsten Williams.  Friends may call from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
