Hobert W. Lake

October 31, 1944 - July 22, 2016

Hobert W. Lake, 71, of Ironton, OH passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 in Marion, OH.  He was born October 31, 1944 in Wheelersburg, OH, a son of Imogene Skaggs Lake of Ironton and the late Thomas Lake.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death in January, 1984 by his wife, Mary M. Preston Lake, whom he married in 1967.  He went on to marry Connie Roseberry and she preceded him in death in 2014. A sister, Doris Cooper also preceded him in death.  Hobert retired after 28 years of service with the Whirlpool Corp., Marion, OH.  He was also a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the AMVETS and the American Legion.  Survivors include his children, Terri (Dwight) Lohr and Hobert (Emily) Lake, Jr., all of Marion; step-children, Kevin Cox of Marion, Mark Hawk of Parkersburg, WV, Davina (John) Bialecki of West Mansfield, OH,  and James (Lesley) Roseberry of Ironton; brothers, Thomas (Marjorie) Lake of Fostoria, OH and James Lake of Marion; grandchildren, Paul Michael (Brandie) Smith of Marion, Leslie Smith of Marion, Devin (Cheyenne) Lake, serving in the Armed Forces in Dover, DE and Darian Lake of Marion; 16 step grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; and a special great niece, Jaelyn Unrue.  Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Friday, July 29, 2016 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Friday.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
