Jennifer Jane Clark (57) of South Point, OH died September 3, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, June and Joseph (Jack) Jenkins and a brother, Charles Jenkins. She is survived by her beloved husband, Larry Clark; as well as sons, Nathan Clark and Sequoyah Redman; daughters, Tisha Jenkins, Hayley Jenkins and Erica Powell; sisters, Jackie (Chuck) Craft of Spotsylvania, VA; Joann Appeman of Berlin Heights, OH; a brother, Michael Jenkins of Huntington, WV; a maternal aunt, Joann Greer of Slidell, LA; grandchildren, Sparrow Clark, Kahleigha Jenkins, Zayden Wells, Taylen Wells, Liam Kiger and Kase Redman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jennifer loved travel with her sister, Jo; loved making and gifting quilts; and spending time with her best friend and husband, Larry. She graduated from Chesapeake High School (class of ’78) and was a graduate of Collins Career Center. Jennifer volunteered as a hospice worker. She worked at Heck’s Department Stores, Bazaar Home Fashions, and Lowes. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of South Point, where she ran a program to feed children in need. At the time of her death, she was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of South Point. She made many lasting friendships in those churches and many of those friends ministered to her in this last illness. Jennifer, though small in stature, had a huge heart and fed and nurtured all who came her way. Jennifer will be missed here by many; but we also know that Heaven’s babies and children will find comfort there in her arms. In Jennifer’s memory, and to continue her work, a fund has been established, “Feed the Children”, a program which provides meals for children in need, through the First Southern Baptist Church of South Point, OH. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers. A viewing will be Wednesday from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and funeral services will be Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Pastor Paul Michael Booth and Pastor Lou Ashworth officiating. Condolences to the family may be made at www.slackandwallace.com.
