Marcia Sue Smoot

August 2, 1960 - October 21, 2016

Marcia Sue Smoot, 56, of Chesapeake, OH passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV.  She was born August 2, 1960 in Cabell County, WV, a daughter of the late Harry Clayton Wilks and Kathleen G. Singer Wilks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raphiel L. “Ray” Smoot;  3 brothers, Michael Wilks, Harry Wilks and Paul Wilks; and a sister, Janet Hix.  Marcia was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church, Chesapeake.  Survivors include  her children, Joe Garrett and Missy Howard; a sister, Sharon Adkins; a brother, Roger (Debbie) Wilks; grandchildren, Mikayla Garrett, Kyleigh Garrett, Damian Garrett, Kristie, Sarah, Ashley, Kelly, Cory, Brittany and Jeremy; several great grandchildren; and her best friend, Judy Hensley.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.  Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.  In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help the family with expenses.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
