Hazel Marie Cleary

December 18, 1926 - November 4, 2016

Hazel Marie (Roberts) Cleary, beloved wife of the late Albert E. Cleary and loving mother to Janet (Philip Bender) Cleary and Robert “Bob” (Cheryl) Cleary passed away on Friday, November 4, at the age of 89 years at Community Hospice of Ashland.  She was born on December 18, 1926 in Kenova, WV.  She was the grandmother of Bethany (Jarrod) Smith, Tommi Kay Hopper, Megan (Ken) Milar, Bobby (Kara) Cleary, Brennan (Darius) Lewis and Chelsea (Aaron) Butler.  She had 18 great grandchildren, Kaden Cleary, Madelien, Gunnar, Baylor and Barrette Smith; Aureline, Azalyn and Astrid Lewis; Kaylee, Kylie and Caleb Hopper; Carson Palmer; Braeden, Teagan, Rowan and Evan Milar; and Elijah and Benjamin Butler.  Hazel was a wonderful homemaker and a devout Christian.  She was a devoted daughter of the late Romanza (Thompson) and Harry Roberts.  She is also survived by a special cousin, Jenny Wilson.  At her request, services have been held with interment in Woodland Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to Slack and Wallace Funeral Home.  www.slackandwallace.com.
