Charlotte Drake Carter

October 26, 1933 - January 27, 2017

Charlotte Drake Carter, 83, of Chesapeake, OH passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 27, 2017.  She was born October 26, 1933 in Manila, WV, a daughter of the late Pat Drake and Jenny Opal Barker Drake.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian R. Carter; her daughter, Gina Beth Carter; three brothers, Keith, Neale and Maurice Drake; and a sister, Karen Turner.  She was an artist, loved literature and was a member of Rome Church of Christ.  Charlotte is survived by her sister, Linda (Noah) Tanner of Owensboro, KY; and two brothers, Dorsie Drake of Chapmanville, WV and Paul (Lynn) Drake of South Point, OH.  Services will be private.  Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
