    Dorothy A. Slack, 88, of Chesapeake, OH went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point.  She was born August 22, 1928 in Carroll County, OH, a daughter of the late Willard C. Lozier and Florence E. Pennock Lozier Hootman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Slack; a daughter-in-law, Victoria Slack; a son-in-law, Larry Grabiak; and a great grandson, Tyler Mayse.  She was a member for many years of South Point Christian Church.  Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Jean Ann Grabiak of Mt. Pleasant, PA and Susan (Kyle) Self of Castle Rock, CO; three sons, Roger Slack of Chapel Hill, TN, Robert (Jane) Slack of Huntington, WV and Richard (Lesa) Slack of Chesapeake, OH; two sisters, Eleanor Slingluff of Parkersburg, WV and Janet Maruca of Lake Helen, FL; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Jenkins of Minerva, OH; ten grandchildren, Stephanie, Angela (James), Tricia (Todd), Rebekah, Kimberly (Craig), Richie (Marlee), Cory, Aaron (Lauren), Kate (Jeremy) and Leanna (David); eighteen great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Jerry Greenslait and Willie Purdee officiating.  Burial will be later at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with the funeral following at the funeral home.  The family also wishes to thank Dr. David Apgar, the staff at Heartland of Riverview and the staff of Close to Home for their care and concern.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to BCAN (Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network – www.bcan.org) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
