    Joyce C. Chupela passed away on April 12, 2017, at age 75 while at the James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio.

    Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Nettis (Farley) Potterton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter J Chupela, twin brother, Jack Potterton and her sister, Cathy Moore.

    Surviving Joyce are sons, John and James Cassity and daughters, Jane York and her husband, Larry, Kathryn Addison and her husband Marc, Teresa Keefe and her husband, Terry,  14 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

    A special thank you is tendered to friend and caregiver, Beth Geer and her children, Thomas and Alexia, who truly became part of the family.

    She worked for many years as a personal caregiver – and countless people can give testimony to her kind and tireless efforts.   Joyce was devoted to caring for those less fortunate than herself.   She was a friend to many and was never happier then when she helping, serving, and caring for others.

    Everyone who knew Joyce knew of her unconditional love for her sons John and James.  She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Peter J and her daughters.  Joyce will be missed by all who knew her.

    Visitation is planned at the Slack and Wallace Funeral home, 802 Solida Rd., South Point, OH on Tuesday, April 25th from 6 pm to 8 pm.  A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 26th, 11:00 AM at St. Ann Church in Chesapeake OH.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
