James William Berkley

March 17, 1964 - April 22, 2017

James William Berkley, 53, of South Point, OH died Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.  He was born March 17, 1964 in Ashland, KY, a son of Phyllis May Berkley of Greenup County, KY and the late James Roger Berkley.  He was a Correctional Officer at the Western Regional Jail, Barboursville, WV for 6 years.  Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Michelle Carnes Berkley of South Point; a daughter, Cheyanne Marie Berkley of South Point; a son, William Cody Berkley of South Point; and a sister, Melissa Neace of Greenup County, KY.  He was a dedicated husband and father and was loved by everyone who knew him.  His passion was deer and turkey hunting.  He loved to camp and fish with his family.  Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Pastor Mike Dement officiating.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
