Lana Kay Johnson, 69, of South Point, OH, went to be home with the Lord and join her husband in Heaven, Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at her residence surrounded by family. Funeral services will be 12 noon Friday, April 28, 2017 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH with Pastor Aaron Childers officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Kay was born August 31, 1947 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Glenn and Margaret Irene Jessie Whitt. In addition to her parents, Kay has now joined, in heaven, her loving husband of 49 ½ years, Louis Johnson; two sisters, Sue Ison, and Ann Pauley. She was a member of Madison Avenue Christian Church and more recently attended Solida Baptist Church for the past several years. She was a retired managing cosmetologist, volunteer for youth organizations, midget league basketball cheerleader director and midget league football cheerleader and majorette director and was involved with Little League baseball for over 30 years. She was a past coach, manager, and served on the board of directors as Vice President; was President and Player Agent, Assistant District 11 Administrator; State Little League Secretary; and a South Point Band Booster and Athletic Booster. Kay is survived by her children, Barbara Ann (Allen Pritchard) Lindsey, James Arthur Johnson, Steven Glenn (Tammy) Johnson, Cynthia Kay Beckett and Katherine Renee Johnson; a sister, Donna Lester; a brother, Jack (Martha) Whitt; 11 grandchildren, Christian Pritchard, Caleb, Nikki and Colton Lindsey, Analicia, Shane, Anthony and Chad Johnson, Erica, Sami and Tori Beckett; and 2 great grandchildren, Chloe and Cooper Lindsey. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Solida Baptist Church Children’s Ministries (Camp, Bus and VBS Ministries). Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
