    Robert Reid Marcum, 83, of Huntington, WV formerly Barboursville, WV and Chesapeake, OH passed away Friday, May 12, 2017.  He was born January 29, 1934 in Amherstdale, WV, the son of the late Frank and Stella Ferrell Marcum.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Scarberry Marcum; six sisters, Minnie Fry, Vernie Weaver, Thelma Carroll, Mary Peyton, Hazel Scarberry and Victoria Marcum; two brothers, Clarence and Buster Marcum; one special grandson, Matthew Warden; and two nephews, Danny Weaver and Larry Scarberry.  Bob was an Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict.  He was an electrician and retired from INCO.  Survivors include his wife, Frances Conley Marcum; one son, Rusty (Beth) Marcum; one daughter, Cheryl (Pete) Warden; step son, John (Sidney) Conley; two stepdaughters, Vicki (Don) Bradley, Beverly (Jay) Bailey; six grandchildren, Christie (Matt) Monteville, Tara (Mark) Combs, Tyler (Melissa) Marcum, Heather (Zack) Ellingsworth, Tim (Amber) Romans and Adam Warden.  Also surviving are six great grandchildren, Nate and Hope Jones, Easton Combs, Addison Marcum, TJ and Juliet Romans; 11 step grandchildren,  Tyler (Amie) Crockett, DJ and Danielle Bradley, Wes (Kristi) Thompson, Rachel (Drew) Bailey, Wade (Bre) Thompson, Jalyn, Lakin and Brayden Bailey, April Conley, Morgan  (Stephen) Handley; also 9 step great grandchildren, Kora and Jovie Thompson, Bryson, Addison and Gracin Bailey, Zuri Thompson, Jase Crockett, Ashtyn and Si Bradley; also niece Dora Knight and nephew Don (Ginny)  Weaver.  Bob loved the Lord, his country, his family, antique cars, and all children and animals.  Bob was a kind, sweet, loving man and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  Bob fought a courageous fight for many years without complaining against 3 dreadful diseases: Cancer, Diabetes and Alzheimer’s.  The family would like to thank the following physicians who cared for him along his journey: Karen Lo, DPM, William Dennison, MD, Daniel Macias, MD, Felix Cheung, MD, Staci Smith, DO, Steven Lochow, MD and Dr. David Apgar.  Also many compassionate caregivers (you know who you are).  Visitation for family and friends will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH with services to follow at 1 PM.  Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
