    Jon D. Light, 76, of South Point, OH died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV.  He was born September 18, 1938 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Jewel Garnet Light and Laura Gladys Perry Light.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Margie Jones.  Jon was a general contractor, a master plumber and electrician and a veteran of the U. S. Army Reserve.  He also attended Tri-Sate Bible College, was a former President of the Tri-State Home Builder’s Assn., a former director and producer for WSAZ-TV, and was an award-winning truck driver for Ashland Oil, Inc., Chemical Division.  He is survived by his wife, Sandy  Butcher Light;  two daughters, Joni Beth Canterbury of South Point and Kevin Canterbury, and Jill and husband, Joey Lynd of South Point; three grandchildren, Jonathan Matthew Canterbury, Abigail and Alli-Madison Lively; a sister, Judy and husband, Dr. Vedii Ayyildiz; a brother, Al “Pete” and wife, Cathy Light; nieces, Sherri Jones, Karen Ayyildiz and Laura Roy; nephews, Kent Ayyildiz, Mike Jones, Kamal Ayyildiz, Terry Light and D. J. Jones; and special friends, Jeff and Linda DeLong, Karon and Ted Turley, Dr. Melin Moses and Andy and Jane Butcher. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastors D. L. Webb and Kenneth Estep officiating.   Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
