Helen Ruth Compton Leach

April 12, 1944 - July 29, 2015

Helen Ruth Compton Leach died at her home on July 29, 2015 in Ironton, Ohio at the age of 71.

Helen is survived by her son Charles Timothy (Angie Norris) Leach, daughters Katrina (Tony) Keith of Ironton and Michelle (John) Stapleton of Killeen, Texas; Grand Children, Taylor Klaiber, Brandon Leach, Major Brice, TJ Keith, D’Laynie Keith, Teran Keith of Ironton, Cory, Karlye, Aaron Stapleton of Killeen, Texas; Great Grand Children, Chassidy & Lylah Stapleton of Killeen, Texas, Brantley Leach, Marley Brice, Armani Keith of Ironton; Sisters, Juanita (Woodrow) Spillman of Lexington, KY and Evelyn (Don) Walters of Mt. City, TN.  She is preceded in death by her parents Melvin Louis & Cora Compton, her brothers Melvin Louis, James Franklin, Robert Eugene Compton, sister Elsie Mae Compton.

Helen was born on April 12, 1944 in Flatwoods, KY to Louis M. and Cora Easterling Compton.  She was a 1962 graduate of Ironton High School.  She married her childhood sweetheart, Charles A. Leach.

Helen was an accomplished baker and skilled line dancer.  She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play football, basketball and volleyball.  She became the team “grandma”.

Helen was a member of Church of the King where she worshipped her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 12:00pm at Church of the King in Ironton, Ohio.   Calling hours will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm prior to the service.  Pastor Butch Deer will officiate the ceremony.  Interment will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, KY.  The Family would like to thank Community Hospice for their quality end of life care.  Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
