Mark Edward Linkfield, 54, of Pedro, OH passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on November 23, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Pastor Leon Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at Aid Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Mark was happily married to Robin (Kelly) for 24 years. He was born in Huntington, WV to Edward and Rosemary (Hamlin) Linkfield of South Point on February 8, 1961. He was a 1979 graduate of Fairland High School and worked as a Superintendent for Fields Excavating. Mark was the owner and operator, with his wife, of Elkins Creek Vinyl. Mark was an avid bowler, enjoyed riding motorcycles, telling jokes and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Mark is survived by two sons, Mark Linkfield, Jr. of Ironton, OH and Jason (Chelsea) Linkfield of Cincinnati, OH; two daughters, Kelly (Bub) Morgan of Ironton, OH and Mindy (Andy) Clark of Pedro, OH; five grandchildren, Drew, Dylan and Coleton Redmond of Ironton, OH and Hunter and Dean Clark of Pedro, OH; two sisters, Mary (Carlton) Cogan of South Point, OH and Missy (James) Freeman of Raleigh, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Marty and Nan Sexton and numerous family members and friends for their support in his final days of battling ALS. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to El Hasa Shriner’s Motorcycle Unit, Ashland, KY. Pallbearers will be Andy Clark, Bub Morgan, Drew Redmond, Dylan Redmond, Billy Dalton and Marty Sexton. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
