Michael F. Fizer

April 17, 1943 - January 15, 2016

Michael F. Fizer, 72, of Coal Grove, Ohio went to be with the Lord Friday, January 15, 2016.  He was born April 17, 1943 in Ashland, KY to Vivian Louise and Shirley W. Fizer.  He was employed by AK Steel and retired in 1998 with 30 years of service.  He was a member of 39^th Street Baptist Church in Ashland, KY.  He married the love of his life, Virginia “Jenny” Damron on February 1, 1962.  Additional survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Deeann Hughes and husband Donnie of Fairlawn, VA and a son Michael Dale and wife Roxanne of Kenova, WV; grandchildren, Troy Hughes, Katelyn Hughes, Ethan Hughes, Brandon Fizer and Abby Masters; great grandchildren, Madison, Savannah and Delaney Fizer, Brooklyn and Gannon Masters, Addison Walls and Ashton Hughes.  Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, January 18, 2016 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, Ohio with Kenny Blankenship officiating.  Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH.  Friends may call from noon until 2 PM before the service at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Mickey Fizer, Brandon Fizer, Troy Hughes, Nate Masters, Jeff Spurlock, Donnie Hughes, Donald Trimble and Greg Bocook.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
