Johnie Victor Eaken, Jr.

May 27, 1946 - May 25, 2017

Johnie Victor Eaken, Jr., 70, of South Point, OH passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.  He was born May 27, 1946 in Wood County, OH, the son of the late Johnie Victor Eaken, Sr. and Viola Jean Chaffin Eaken.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Eaken and Rick Eaken.  Johnie was an Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict.  He was of the Baptist faith and a lifetime member of D.A.V. and the V.F.W.  Survivors include his wife, Lalona Bocook H. Eaken; two sons, Travis (Becky) Hodges of South Point, OH and Ronald (Jill) Hodges of South Point, OH; four sisters, Teresa (George) Markell, Tonya (Doug) Aucitmony, Toni Eaken and Tracey Eaken, all of North Baltimore, OH; two brothers, Bill (Sherry) Eaken  and Storm (Connie) Eaken of North Baltimore, OH;  5 grandchildren, Samantha (Mary) Shropshire, Joe Alan Hodges, Rachael Halterman, Brittany Halterman and Brandon Haney; and one great grandchild, Jasmine Shropshire.  Funeral services will be 12 Noon Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH with Pastor Matthew Adams officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, Argillite, KY.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
