Jerry Lee Brownstead

Jerry Lee Brownstead, 78, of Ironton, OH died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Ironton Campus.  He was born September 3, 1938 in Ironton, OH , a son of the late Jervis Brownstead and Loretta Gannon Brownstead.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herman; a sister, Elsie; and a brother-in-law, Socko.   Jerry was retired as a Pastor and was an Army veteran.  Survivors include his wife, Sally Queen Brownstead; two children, J. T. (Jaye) Brownstead and Christy Stacey; three step-children, Franny (Josh) Fossett, Robert Smith and Toney Ferguson; a sister, Mary “Liddie” Thompson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Central Christian Church, Ironton with Willie Purdee officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point is assisting the family with arrangements.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
