Ms. Audrey Mae Neal age 83, of Starke passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at her daughter’s home in South Point, Ohio. Ms. Neal was born May 24, 1934 in Ashland, Kentucky to Jay and Myrtle (Day) Estep. Formerly of South Point, Ohio, she was a school bus driver. Audrey enjoyed farming and her greenhouse. After moving to Starke in 1992, she became a member of Christ’s Church and took care of elderly people in their home for 7 years. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Russell V. Estep, Estemond “Red” Estep, Thomas E. Estep, Donald E. Estep, Alma Trent, Naomi Stevens, and Ida McCarthy. She is survived by her children, Freda Gale Neal of Johnson, Tennessee, Chauncey Neal, Jr. of Andis, Ohio, Jessie C. Neal of Scottown, Ohio, Kathleen Pemberton of South Point, Ohio, Betty Jo Adkins of Starke, Harold S. Neal of Rock Camp, Ohio, and Alice M. Neal of South Point, Ohio; sisters, Sue Stewart of Marion, Ohio, and Elizabeth “Dolly” Daniels of Ashland, Kentucky; 21 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel on Monday, October 9, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Lester Austin officiating. Interment will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery.
