    GARLAND M. FERGUSON, 81, of South Point, Ohio, died Friday, May 20, 2011 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Solida Missionary Baptist Church, South Point, Ohio with Pastor Larry Armentrout officiating. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Garland was born April 10, 1930 in Athalia, Ohio, a son of the late Ruth McComas and Froebel Fredrick Ferguson. He was a WWII Veteran, carpenter, millwright, member of the Masonic Lodge No. 83 of Linden, WV, member of American Legion Post 806 of Ironton, Ohio and member of the Baptist Church of Wadsworth, Ohio. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Armentrout; three brothers, Freddy Ferguson, Harold Ferguson and Clarence Ferguson. Garland is survived by his wife, Lelia June Ferguson; three sons, Kevin Ferguson (Amanda), Roney Hunt and David Ferguson (Joan); three daughters, Michelle Ferguson (Don), Debbie Metsker (Darryl) and Denise Jones (Jerry); 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Jean Estepp; several nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Solida Missionary Baptist Church, South Point, Ohio. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
