Larry Thomas Murray, Sr.

January 3, 1942 - August 13, 2018

Larry Thomas Murray, Sr., 76 of Proctorville, OH went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 13, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  He was born January 3, 1942 in Ashland, KY, a son of the late Oshal Murray and Julia Kazee Murray.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary David Murray and a sister, Carol Sue Murray Tarr.  Larry was a longtime amateur radio operator and enjoyed metal detecting.  He was also a veteran, having served in the Army National Guard.  Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Marilyn Sue Fisher Murray; two sons, Larry Thomas (Shannon) Murray, Jr. of Chesapeake, OH and Robert J. Murray of Proctorville, three grandchildren, Cecil Murray, Emma Murray and Mina Murray; and a niece, Julia Ann Tarr Boyd of Flatwoods, KY.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Charlie Brown officiating.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
