Edna Frances Thacker, 100, of South Point, OH went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Heartland of Riverview.  She was born September 21, 1917 in Kenova, WV, a daughter of the late Edward and Lucy Heinz Smith McMullen.  She was a longtime member of Union Missionary Baptist Church.  We rejoice because she is with Jesus and reunited with loved ones gone before. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Chauncey Thacker; a son, David Thacker; a brother, Don McMullen; and three sisters, Carol Thacker, Mary Catherine Gardner and Helen Childers; and a granddaughter, Melissa Thacker.  Edna is survived by her sons, Billy M. (Betty) Thacker of Proctorville, OH, Joseph M. (Phyllis) Thacker of Chesapeake, OH and Mark A. Thacker of Martin, SD; 8 grandchildren, Kelly (Jerry) Furbee, Billie Jo Thacker, Nikki (Aurel) Borodi, Joey (Jamie) Thacker, Jonathan Thacker, Timothy (Kiera) Thacker, David (Dana) Thacker and Benjamin (Jesse) Thacker; 21 great grandchildren; 4 great, great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, September 8, 2018   at Union Missionary Baptist Church, Chesapeake with Pastor Mark Thacker and Pastor Randy See officiating.  Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.  Visitation will be 12 PM to 2 PM Saturday at the church.  Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
