Cosetta M. Absher

March 4, 1939 - September 6, 2018

Cosetta M. Absher, born on March 4, 1939 went to be with her lord on September 6 at the age of 79. She was born in Kenova, West Virginia, to the late Eula Carico and the late Harvey Carico. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1957 and was in the food services industry at Ohio University until retiring in 1993 and moving back to South Point. She is survived of her husband of 61 years, Rex A. Absher and her children, Rex Anthony (Trish) Absher, Penny Absher Huff, Cindy (Roger) Hurd, and Julie Huron (David Barnes).  She is also survived by brother, Bill (Eva) Carico, sister, Ann (Curt) Maynard, grandchildren, Aaron (Tenille) Huff, Amy (Jake) Johnson, Beth (Ty) Johnson, David (Brittany) Absher, Travis (Cassi) Hall, Carley Hall, and Phoenix Huron, and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Tyler & Kayla Huff, Camryn, Andrew & Eli Johnson, and Nolan & Everson Johnson. Cosetta was avid artist and the family comedian. She was a member of Kings Way Church. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 PM with a celebration of Cosetta’s life beginning at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, 802 Solida Road, South Point, Ohio, 45680.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O.
