James Henry Linthicum, Sr., 91, of Burlington, OH went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at his residence on Sunday, September 16, 2018. He was born in Huntington, WV to the late Arthur and Isabelle Linthicum. He was preceded in death by two siblings, William Linthicum and Alice Booker; his loving wives, Eva Jones Linthicum (the mother of his 4 children) and his second wife, Mom Ruth Minnis Linthicum; a daughter, Vera Jean Linthicum; a son, Marvin Thomas Linthicum; and two grandsons, Marcel Linthicum and Charles Lamont Linthicum. James was a devoted member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Ironton, OH where he was a Deacon, Layman, choir member, Trustee and all around servant for the Lord. He was a U S Army veteran and retired from Special Metals after 17 years of service. Survivors include his daughter, Janet Perkins of South Point, OH; two sons, James (Tina) Linthicum of Roanoke, VA and Charles (Barbara) Linthicum of Burlington, OH; one sister, Virginia Linthicum Harris of Huntington, WV; a host of Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; two Great, Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Ironton, OH with Pastor Melvin Freeman officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time at the church. Interment with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH.
