    Charles Jimmie Mayberry (Jim), 73, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away and entered Heaven’s gates Sunday, September 30, 2018. At the time of passing he was in the care of Emogene Dolin Hospice House, Huntington, WV. Jim was born September 27, 1945 to the late Charles Jimmie, Sr. and Opal McMabon Mayberry. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Charles Jimmie III and sister Billie Jo Barbour. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon Roach Mayberry; his son, John Owen Mayberry of Washington, DC; his only aunt, Mary Savage of Clearwater, FL and brother-in-law, Rich Barbour of Willow Wood, OH. Jim graduated from SVHS with class of 1962 and attended Rio Grande University. After 35 years in law enforcement he retired in 2015 from Adult Probation Department of Lawrence County Common Pleas Court. Jim also served 10 years on the Board of Supervisors with Lawrence Soil and Water and three years on the Area Fine Board of Directors for the Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday, October 3, 2018 and one hour prior to the service at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH. The funeral service will take place 1:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH with his nephew, Aaron Reisinger and Brother Larry Casteel officiating. Burial will follow to Perkins Ridge Cemetery, Willow Wood, OH. Condolences to the family may be made to www.slackandwallace.com.
