Timothy Dean Bays, 54, formerly of Greenup passed away December 27, 2013 at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods after an extended illness.
Tim was born January 18, 1959 in Ashland, KY to Lucretia Stone Bays Shoemaker of South Point, OH and the late Charles Lee Bays of Greenup. After graduating from Greenup County High School in 1977, Tim earned a degree in communications from Ashland Community College and worked in radio broadcasting at WCMI radio. Then in 1985, Tim would attend The Huntington School of Beauty Culture and soon acquired numerous clientele and become a master stylist and color artist. Tim’s love for music and drum corps led him to instruct and choreograph routines for the Raceland High School marching band’s color guard. In addition to his mother that he adored, is the most incredible bonus dad ever, Bruce Shoemaker of South Point; a sister, Kim (Grant) Baldridge of Russell; a very special niece and his pride and joy, Molly Baldridge of Russell; sisters, Anita Wallace of Franklin Furnace, OH, Stacey (Lee) Bias of Barboursville, WV; a brother, Mike (Tina) Shoemaker, also of Barboursville; niece and nephews, Jennifer (Cody) Stapleton and Brandon Wallace of Franklin Furnace; Tyler Shoemaker of Greenville SC, T.J. Shoemaker of Huntington, Cayden Shoemaker of Barboursville and Jaydon Hawthorne, also of Barboursville; and one aunt that he “grew up” with and loved dearly, Dorothy “Pib” Claxon of Greenup. Tim also leaves behind a host of friends and extended family that will mourn his passing. The family would like to thank our family and friends at Oakmont Manor, Robin, Amy, Carolyn, Stacey, Kathy, Melinda, Jodie, Misty, Tiffany, Kelsey, Connie, Teresa and Kayla. You are a special group of nurses! Thank you for all of your kindness and heartfelt words. .Tim loved you all! Thanks to Merri of Community Hospice. You are one of a kind!
