William L. Keefer

Willard L. “Bill” Keefer, 93, of South Point, OH, went to be with his Lord Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Minister Wayne McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, OH. Bill was born October 12, 1920 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Alka Otis Keefer and Mildred Louise Niday Keefer. He was a retired Blacksmith/Welder with the C & O Railroad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Juanita Harris Keefer. Survivors include his daughter, Billie Rice of South Point; a brother, Carroll “Pete” (Wanda) Keefer of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Leah K. Cochuyt and Josh (Amie) Rice; five great grandchildren, Madeline and Miranda Cochuyt, Kearsten Rice, Ella Morgan Rice and Brady Curtis Rice; and many nieces and nephews.
