    William David “Dave” Barker, 74, of Proctorville, OH died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Emogene Dolen Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. He was born April 27, 1939 in Huntington, a son of the late Frank Barker and Ella Mae Ratliff Barker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Ann Carucci Barker; a daughter, Cathy Marie McGlone; a granddaughter, Jamie Sue Barker; a brother, Jack Barker; and a sister, Margaret Stewart. Dave was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a self-employed landscaper. He was also a great guitar player and singer. He is survived by five children, David F. Barker of South Point, OH, Tina Mullins of Floral City, FL, Joseph E. Barker of Chesapeake, OH, Rose E. Combs of Proctorville and Jamie Barker of Inverness, FL; two sisters, Jane Hastings of South Point and Emma Lou Shope of South Point; two brothers, Samuel E. Barker of South Point and Daniel Barker of Luce Dale, MS; twenty grandchildren; and twenty-four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2014 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Pastor Terry Wagner officiating.. Burial will follow in Hecla Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 – 2:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
