Jerry E. Vaughn

November 12, 1939 - March 21, 2014

Jerry E. Vaughn, 74 of South Point, OH left this earth Friday, March 21, 2014 for an extended Heavenly vacation. Waiting for him will be his father, Charles “Buck” Vaughn and his sister, Sandra Lewis. Jerry was born November 12, 1939 in Chesapeake, OH. He is survived by his loving mother, Ruby Duty Vaughn of South Point and his wife of 47 years, Della Vaughn; children, Ryan A. (Julie) Vaughn of Huntington, WV and daughter, Angela R. Vaughn of Tampa, FL; he also leaves behind four grandchildren, Kendra, Madison, Emilee and Gage; also surviving are two aunts, Helen Duty and Mary Lou Stapleton of Chesapeake; brothers-in-law, Roger (Amy) Mayse of Proctorville, Michael (Erana) Mayse of Kenova and Larry Lewis of Huntington; and a host of family and friends. He served as a Spec 4 in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict. Jerry retired from Pic Way Shoes and Cabell Huntington Hospital and he spent the last part of his life in Heartland of Riverview, South Point. The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland for his care and also to Dr. David Apgar for his kindness and concern for Jerry. Also, a special thank you to Bernie. Jerry was a wonderful person, fun-loving and mischievous. He was a wonderful father to our children and I thank God that he chose me to be his wife. We will love and miss him and we held the faith until the very end. Graveside memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, South Point with Pastor Dwight Mayse officiating.
