    Harry Lee Wilks, Sr., 65, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH with Pastor Duane Smith and Rev. Cleo Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Beckner Cemetery, Wayne, WV. Harry was born October 3, 1948 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Harry Clayton and Kathleen G. Singer Wilks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Hix. Harry served 13 years in the U.S. Army where he was discharged honorably. He served two tours in Germany as a Military Policeman; served in Vietnam and returned to Ft. Knox, KY as a tank instructor with the rank of Sargent. He graduated from Symmes Valley High School in in 1968 and was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church. Harry is survived by 2 sons, Harry L. Wilks, Jr. and Charles Clayton Wilks; 2 sisters, Sharon Adkins and Marcia Smoot; 3 brothers, Paul L. Wilks, Sr., Roger Clayton Wilks and Michael Ray Wilks; 7 grandchildren, Ethan Tyler Wilks, Caleb Garrett Wilks, Corey Lee Wilks, Destiny Shea (Wilks) Adkins, Zaden (Wilks) Adkins, Laekyn Hope Wilks and Addison Noel Wilks; and was loved by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
