RICHARD LEE CARTE, 59, of Deering, OH, formerly of Ironton, OH passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center following a short illness. The Ironton, OH native was born September 10, 1954, the son of the late Delano “Lee” Carte and Betty Martin Carte. He was an employee of Ironton City Schools for 35 years and retired as maintenance supervisor in 2010. Mr. Carte is survived by his wife of 34 years, Robin Moulton Carte whom he married March 20, 1980. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Tara Carte Short (Doug) of Ashland, KY and Amy Reynolds Jackson of Ironton; three grandchildren, Miranda Devaney, Madison Jackson and Aaron Jackson; one great grandchild, Laynee Crabtree; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Charlie Carte (Therese), Rick Carte (Patty) and Jan Moulton; one sister, Brenda Carte Adkins (Mark); five nephews, Chris, Eric, Austin, Tanner and Kyle; two nieces, Natalie and Katlyn; and several special friends. He was a loyal member of V.F.W. Post 8850, Ironton, Moose Lodge 701, Ironton and the Knights of Columbus 1405, Ironton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, 802 Solida Rd., South Point, OH. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
