Joann Hargis

Joann Hargis, 68, of Chesapeake, OH went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 31, 2014 at her home. She was born November 12, 1945 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Clarence Mathews and Monnie Marie James Mathews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister , Retha Kay Mathews; a brother, Clarence Daryl Mathews; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Sexton. Joann was a member of New Covenant Pentecostal Church. Survivors include her husband, Ernie L. Hargis; two sons, Ernie Hargis, Jr. and William K. (Brenda) Hargis; five grandchildren, Eric (Leslie), Justin, Christopher, Jessica and Danetta; eight great grandchildren, Destiny, MacKenzie, Olivia, Dana, Laynie, Jaycee, Lexis and Aaron; her step-mother, Barbara Hall; two brothers, Jimmy (Diane) Mathews and Grady Mathews; a sister-in-law, Pam Mathews; a sister, Debbie (Ron) Moss; a nephew, Brian Sexton; and a niece, Kelley Poff. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 3, 2014 at Burlington Greenlawn Cemetery with Brother Ansil officiating. Burial will follow.
