Tyler James Owens, 19, of Coal Grove, OH passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Ironton, OH. He was born May 22, 1995 in Columbus, OH, a son of Orlyn Owens, Jr. and the late Kathleen McGlone Owens. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Orlyn Owens and Joyce White Sherman. Tyler worked at Giovanni’s Pizza in Coal Grove. In addition to his father, he is survived by his step mother Pamela Owens; 2 sisters, Breanne Owens and Patricia Owens; 3 brothers, Allen Myers, Casey Bartrum and Jacob Owens; maternal grandparents, Betty Thompson and Larry McGlone; and paternal grandparents, Pete Sherman and Carol Jean Owens. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Myrtle Ridge Cemetery, Kitts Hill, Ohio with Dale Knipp officiating. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
